Feniks Association for Human Development and Innovative Action, Croatia

Feniks was founded with the vision to provide a physical (place based) platform on the island of Murter in Croatia that will facilitate inspirational interaction among change-makers. These facilitated interactions lead to innovative ideas, actions and empowerment for the co‐creation of viable sustainable ventures and for the stimulation of human potential development. In creating this meeting ground, we aim to contribute to forming a critical mass of people and actions to bring about a societal shift towards more conscious and sustainable future for all life on the planet. We aim to achieve this vision and mission through:

  • Coordinating Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Labs that incubate and accelerate ground-breaking projects.
  • Offering residential workshops and courses for Lifelong Learning, Conscious Business Management, Work-Life Balance, New Venture Creation, Integral Leadership, Social Learning, and many more.
  • Operating a Hotel and Congress Centre for high profile events and conferences around active engagement for sustainability
  • Running sustainable tourism projects that involve local businesses and communities.

Social Transformation Lab Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia

The Social Transformation Lab Banska Stiavnica is an organisation that enables social transformation on the local level. It is based in a former mining town that is part of the UNESCO world heritage but that has lost its position as a historical, cultural and economic centre some decades ago. We respond to the challenges resulting from environmental, cultural and social decline, combining participatory research, multidimensional education and direct transformative interventions in the community, taking steps to catalyse the transition and create a showcase of transformative progress, sustainability and a self-sufficient living, responding to the needs and interests of the local community.
